Making a Commitment to Dance
1820 Dance Ltd. is committed to providing dancers with a friendly, safe and inspiring environment.
We aim to create an atmosphere that allows each dancer to develop their artistry while also having the opportunity to create new relationships and be inspired by their peers.
We believe it is absolutely necessary to continue fostering the potential of the young dancers in our community by providing a weekend of outstanding dance excellence.

Scholarships & Awards
The following scholarships will be selected by the 1820 Dance Convention faculty and handed out in conjunction with the Convention portion of the event.
Born to Dance - Winner (one winner will be chosen per room): Full tuition scholarship to a 2025 ‘1820 Dance Convention’ event (Valued at $340.00)
Born to Dance - Runner Up (1-2 winners will be chosen per room): Partial scholarship to a 2025 ‘1820 Dance Convention’ event (Valued at $170.00)
1820 Dance Apprentice (four winners will be chosen from the Senior room): Winners will be provided with the opportunity to assist at a 2025 ‘1820 Dance Convention’ event.
Please note, all scholarships are non-transferable and non-exchangable.
Awards (1820 Dance Solo Competition) - Edmonton Only
1st Place Overall Solo (per level): $100.00
2nd Place Overall Solo (per level): $75.00
3rd Place Overall Solo (per level): $50.00
High Mark Solos - We will announce the top three solos by discipline (per level) so long as there’s a minimum of 5 solos registered in that discipline.
1st Place Overall Duet/Trio (per level): $100.00
2nd Place Overall Duet/Trio(per level): $75.00
3rd Place Overall Solo Duet/Trio (per level): $50.00
Please note, we must have a minimum of seven(7) duet/trio entries per level in order to award a top three. If there are less than 7 entries, we will only announce the highest score.
Judge’s Choice Awards
All scholarship and competition award recipients will receive the opportunity to participate in an 1820 Dance Promotional photoshoot.

Studio Owners
The following information is subject to change at any time and is relevant to all studio owners and teachers looking to register their dancers for the 1820 Dance Convention & Competition.
Registration
Studios will be emailed an excel spreadsheet to be filled out with the name, contact information, registration details etc. of each dancer the studio is registering. This spreadsheet along with an e-transfer for the total amount must be submitted to info@1820dance.com by the early bird deadline (September 17th, 2024) or the registration deadline (October 20th, 2024) - or both.
Studios will be provided with a discounted registration rate so they may include their own administrative fees to cover the cost per dancer.
1820 Dance Ltd. will honour the early bird rate for all studio registrations submitted by September 17th, 2024.
Studios will be provided with one complimentary full convention registration (valued at $340.00) per every 15 dancers registered, to use at their own discretion. Please note, each complimentary entry accrued must be used at the 2024 event.
Studios with ten or more registrations will be provided with one complimentary Observer’s Pass to be used by the studio owner or teacher representative.
Edmonton Only - The 1820 Dance Ltd. Solo/Duet/Trio Competition will be taking place in conjunction with the 1820 Dance Convention on Saturday, November 4th. Please stay tuned for more information.
Observer Passes.
Observer Passes are now available for studio owners, teachers and parents interested in watching the convention. We have full weekend and one day passes available. You may select one room or choose the option to have the flexibility to move between rooms.
